1904: Government assesses tuberculosis on reservations
Tuberculosis continues to to be a major problem on reservations. U.S. Commissioner of Indian Affairs William A. Jones issues a report based on information obtained from Indian agents working on reservations, stating that the rate of tuberculosis is at epidemic proportions.
