NLM Announces a Research Education Program (R25) Funding Opportunity to Support Short-Term Research Experiences in Bioinformatics and Data Science and Enhance Diversity
The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports educational activities that encourage individuals, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in research. As part of this program, NLM is pleased to announce RFA-LM-22-001, “Short-Term Research Education Experiences to Attract Talented Students to Biomedical Informatics/Data Science Careers and Enhance Diversity (R25 Clinical Trial Not Allowed).” This funding opportunity announcement seeks proposals from institutions that will create innovative educational programs and research experiences aimed at attracting talented undergraduate and master’s students to doctoral programs in biomedical informatics and data science. Proposals that aim to increase the diversity of the scientific workforce are encouraged.
NLM will conduct a technical assistance webinar regarding RFA-LM-22-001 on Wednesday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. ET. All prospective applicants are encouraged to participate.
