Migration of Monographic Citations to LocatorPlus: Merge Project | ||||||||||||||||||
n June 28-29, 2002, 30,933 monographic and audiovisual records previously resident in the legacy ELHILL databases HISTLINE®, SPACELINE® and/or BIOETHICSLINE® were matched with their source records, now in LocatorPlus. [Editor's Note: The sum of records affected by this project (and reported in this article) is less than the total in the three sub-projects because a few records were updated more than once, to reflect their previous presence in more than one of the three legacy databases.] These LocatorPlus records were then marked to show that they may be of interest to users searching for materials in the specialized subject areas of history of medicine, space life sciences, or bioethics.
In the case of the records previously resident in BIOETHICSLINE, unique keywords assigned by the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (KIE), Medical Subject Headings (MeSH®), and related data from each BIOETHICSLINE record were also merged into the matching LocatorPlus record. Specific details for the data converted from each specialized legacy database follow: An additional 21,921 LocatorPlus records were updated with the two marker fields shown below to indicate that they previously appeared in HISTLINE:
035 $a(DNLM)HISTLINE An additional 6,544 LocatorPlus records were updated with the two marker fields shown below to indicate that they previously appeared in SPACELINE:
035 $a(DNLM)NASA An additional 2,656 LocatorPlus records were updated with the two marker fields shown below to indicate that they previously appeared in BIOETHICSLINE.
035 $a(DNLM)KIE:####### Certain unique BIOETHICSLINE data were also merged into the LocatorPlus records and appear in MARC 21 fields according to the following chart:
This conversion project, completed in June 2002, marks the final phase in the reorganization of the monographic data from the specialized databases into LocatorPlus.
