RxNorm Release Notes

February Release - 2/03/2020

This full release of RxNorm is consistent with the 2019AB UMLS Metathesaurus release. For additional information about RxNorm releases, including scripts for loading the RxNorm data into Oracle and MySQL databases, read the RxNorm Technical Documentation.

Data Changes

Dose Form Changes

Two new dose forms are now available in RxNorm. The new dose forms are: Chewable Extended Release Oral Tablet and Sublingual Film. Also, the dose form Oral Strip has changed to Oral Film. RxNorm names with the Oral Strip dose form have been changed to Oral Film.
