RXNORM DATA CHANGES

Two New COVID-19-Related Concepts Added

First, sotrovimab, a drug allowed under the U.S. Food & Drug Administration Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), became available in the RxNorm June 9, 2021 weekly release and is in the RxNorm July 2021 monthly release also.

Here is the sotrovimab Semantic Clinical Drug (SCD) concept name, RxNorm Concept Unique Identifier (RXCUI), and National Drug Code (NDC):

Second, a new concept for a propofol lipid emulsion product is also included. This product is an investigational infusion to maintain sedation in patients 16 or older who require mechanical ventilation in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
