Introduction
How dataset was built? Which format was being used to
store the data, both fullcolor and radiological ones? Which kind of technical,
and amministrative, choises was done to best support the goal to give a
professional service to European continental users? How users should
reach the datasets download area? Which kind of agreement they must sign?
Is the dataset free of charge for use?
These are only few questions we've try to give an answer builting our
hypertextual introduction to VHD and VHD-MMS. The tutorial (Figure
1) should be an introduction to all the aspects
of both male and female dataset. After an excursus over "VISIBLE HUMAN
PROJECT" background, the methods used for "VISIBLE HUMAN DATASET" construction
are taken in care. Rules, today in use, for having free access to data
are then showed.
Motivations, goals and collaborations that have physically made possible
to setup the structure and the services of the "VISIBLE HUMAN
DATASET - MILANO MIRROR
SITE®" (http://vhd-mms.cilea.it/) (Figure
2), are showed in detail.
The introduction is ready to use. It is made freely available on-line
from VHD-MMS web site, and is built up to give users the possibility to
navigate inside it, both through the hypertextual index, and slide by slide,
for presentation purpose. Teachers who want use it for learning purpose
can freely use it two way: print it and simply reproduce it on paper and
film, or navigate the HTML index on-line with standard web browsers.
