The image appears in the influential encyclopedia of natural history, Dictionnaire reisonné universel d'histoire naturelle, v. 1 by French naturalist Jacques Christophe Valmont-Bomare (1731–1807), demonstrating the profound influence Aristotle’s writings had on later scholars of natural history.
