    De animalibus (On the Animals)

    Aristotle. De animalibus. (Venice: Johann of Cologne, 1476)
    This first Latin edition of Aristotle’s De animalibus was translated by Theodore Gaza, a Greek refugee to Italy after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. The initials are hand colored.
