PubMed Update: Related Citation Links in Search Results. NLM Tech Bull. 2024 May-Jun;(458):e6.

The four PubMed comment correction types labeled in search results now also include a link to the related citation in the summary display:

  • Update in.
  • Retraction in.
  • Retracted and republished in.
  • Corrected and republished in.

For example, a preprint citation that is linked to a published journal article now includes a link from the search results to the published article's PubMed citation (Figure 1).

These new links appear in the search results summary display for larger screens such as desktops or tablets. On smaller screens and mobile devices, this information continues to appear as a brief label.

All available related citations continue to be linked on a citation's abstract page. The complete list of comment correction types found in PubMed is available from PubMed User Guide: Comment Correction Type.
