Pioneers of Birth Control in England and America, Victor Robinson, MD, New York, 1919
Pioneering medical editor, publisher, and historian, Victor Robinson (1886-1947) wrote a number of daring historical publications including Pioneers of Birth Control in England and America. Robinson begins with a quote from English cleric Thomas Robert Malthus to pioneer of birth control James Mill: “I am not an enemy to population; I am an enemy to vice and misery; and the reason why I desire that no more children should be born than the condition of the country can support is this, that of those that are born the greatest possible number may live.”
