The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is pleased to host a week-long, in-person training event for science educators, which will include interactive workshops on NCBI resources and a panel discussion on employing data-driven, active learning exercises in science classes. Teams of educators will work in a codeathon-style curricula-thon to create a curricular package (including learning objectives, course materials, and assessments) that they can use in their classroom/course. The materials will be published and accessible on a public GitHub site to share. And at the end of the week, the teams will present their work to each other, NIH staff and the scientific education community, colleagues and friends.
